The limit values are based on a calori ﬁ c value of 10 kWh/m

. This corresponds to a reference

to fuels with 100% by vol. methane or, if there are other combustible elements in the fuel, an

equal energy equivalent and thus an equal input of pollutants.

Example:

Russian natural gas with a caloriﬁc value of 10 kWh/m

(Table 14) is used. The permissible value for total

sulfur in the gas thus corresponds exactly to the limit value speciﬁed in Table 16.

When using gas from Osthannover, for example, with Hu = 8.15 kWh/m

(Table 15) the

permissible max. value of total sulfur is calculated thus:

permissible total sulfur content = 30 mg/m³

(8.15 kWh/m

: 10.0 kWh/m

) = 24.5 mg/m³
